Facial care treatments
Botox is one of the most popular non-surgical procedures. It is a simple, safe, and non-invasive technique which attenuates moderate and severe expression wrinkles, frown, and crow’s feet, providing brightness and a younger and more relaxed look to the skin.
TYPE OF PATIENTS
The ideal patient is someone who wishes to achieve a younger look in a short period of time and to avoid surgery. The patient should be aware that this treatment needs a follow-up.
Botox is injected into those areas where the patient wants to eliminate wrinkles by paralyzing the muscles that cause them. After applying local anaesthesia or an anaesthetic cream, injections are practically painless, although pinches can be slightly unpleasant. Once the treatment has finished, the results are visible within one week and they last for at least 4 months. However, the following Botox infiltrations normally last longer.
Facial filling is a great solution to improve the appearance of the face and to recover youth. It is used for filling sunken cheeks and defining and repositioning the face features and persistent wrinkles. It also provides the skin with brightness and elasticity.
Unlike some other treatments, fillings use the patient’s own fat, avoiding the use of unfamiliar substances to the body.
TYPE OF PATIENTS
For the use of the injections, the only requirement is that the patient must have fat excess in some other part of his/her body – backside, belly, or thighs.
The fat injections, previously sucked, processed and purified, can last between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on each case. They are injected under local anaesthesia and they may cause minimal pain.
The results are fully evident after a week, when the swelling and the possible bruises disappear, and they can last up to one year.
It consists of rejuvenating the face by restoring the volume where it has been lost, treating the creases, and structuring the basic tissue.
Hyaluronic acid is the primarily used filler; it increases the elasticity and the firmness of the skin. Its application is fast and easy, so that the patient can lead a normal life immediately.
Peeling involves the application of a chemical on the skin with the aim of favouring the removal of dead skin cells and boosting cell renewal by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, which are essential components to keep the skin smooth and firm.
It is indicated for:
- Treatment of scars.
- Treatment of the face and stained hands.
- Facial Rejuvenation.
The treatment involves the application of microinjections of combined vitamins, amino acids, coenzymes, and antioxidants, which stimulate tissue regeneration, increase skin elasticity, and moisturize it, resulting in a smoother and brighter skin, with fewer wrinkles.
The treatment is painless, and it is applied all over the face. It is carried out in different sessions, depending on the features of the patient.
Typically, facial mesotherapy is combined with other facial rejuvenation treatments in order to give a comprehensive result to the face.
Facial radiofrequency involves applying radiofrequency electromagnetic waves that produce a lifting action without surgery.
It is used to treat the forehead (it lifts brows and it tightens the forehead skin), the area under the eyes (it thickens and it tightens the skin and it lifts the upper cheek skin), the cheeks (it diminishes enlarged pores), the line jaw (it decreases sagging) and the neck (it tightens the skin and it reduces wrinkles).
SPOTS AND HYPERPIGMENTATION
In cases of spots and hyperpigmentation, apart from the factors that trigger and accelerate the ageing of the skin, other hormonal or hereditary types can be added.
The doctor, after examining the type of skin and spots, decides which procedure or combination of procedures is the most appropriate for each patient. In general, the processes for treating spots are the following:
Skin peel: It constitutes the action of various types of acids (phenol, TCA, salicylic, retinoic, glycolic, etc.) to produce a keratinization and subsequent cell renewal on the target areas.
Light therapy (IPL): This technique is based on applying a light beam. It is a non-invasive procedure that can eliminate various types of spots and pigmentation, especially those that occur in the neck, chest, and hands.
Mask depigmentation: It accelerates natural exfoliation, helping to eliminate dead cells and promoting cell regeneration by producing more collagen.
ACNE TREATMENT: Each treatment is different depending on the type of acne, its severity, and the age of the patient. The doctor will perform a study to know what type of acne corresponds to each patient, and he/she will advise the patient on the most appropriate treatment for him/her.
In Aesthetic Medicine, carboxytherapy is one of the best techniques to combat cellulite, excess fat, sagging, and facial and body skin aging.
It is a non-surgical method that injects CO2 subcutaneously. This gas is supplied by special equipment that regulates the temperature, the flow rate, the injection time, and the total volume injected.
At a local level, the CO2 produces lipolysis and vasodilatation. It also improves microcirculation.
The treatment achieves an obvious improvement in the appearance and color of the circles under the eye, the sagging of the inner face, the chin, and the expression lines. In addition, it revitalizes the skin tone.
THE LATEST PROCEDURE TO STRENGTHEN THE SKIN.
The V-Lift-Pro tightening threads, also called “magic threads”, stimulate the tissue by creating new collagen and fibroblasts, which rejuvenate from the inside to the outside.
These magic threads regenerate the skin and tighten the tissue to CORRECT sagging. It is an effective, quick, and painless treatment.
It involves placing a polydioxanone thread into the dermis, followed by voltage vectors, which have been designed previously for each zone. The product does not act as a filler; instead, it has a skin tensor effect.
The V –Lift is a new technique for the treatment of the skin laxity in the face and in the neck. Fundamentally, it is also effective to strengthen different body areas (the inner parts of the arms and the legs, the abdomen, etc.) producing a biological lifting, self-induced by the production of fibroblasts and collagen around the inserted thread. This results in the lifting of the treated area.
The results are visible after a month, improving every week and reaching the best outcome after 3 months; and being maintained from 12 to 18 months, depending on the age, type of skin, the amount of collagen of each person and the individual features.
The treatment should be individualized, depending on the age, the skin characteristics, etc. In general, a single session is performed, sometimes two sessions, spaced between 4 or 6 weeks. The duration of its effect is usually 9-12 months. The optimum effect can be appreciated after 3 months, and the thread is completely reabsorbed after 6 months. It is recommended to combine it with other facial rejuvenation techniques to prevent skin ageing. Due to the infiltration, some transient hematomas, redness, and oedemas may appear in the treated area. The patient should avoid sun exposure during the time that the treatment is being done.
Patients can start with their normal activities immediately.
This treatment is contraindicated if the patient has a skin infection, clotting problems, or autoimmune diseases.
We do not recommend any treatment in pregnant or nursing women.
Through the infiltration of fillers in the lip area we achieve the following results:
- Increased volume of the lips.
- Improved defects or asymmetries.
- Elimination of vertical lines on the upper lip.
The doctor explores the shape and volume of the lips and he / she explains what results are possible for maximum naturalness.
The treatment of facial photo rejuvenation with IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, is one of the most innovative techniques in aesthetic medicine that visibly improves problems such as wrinkles, dehydration, sagging and lack of light, caused by the constant exposure to multiple external factors: time, sun, stress, alcohol and tobacco, etc.
The treatment can be performed in the face, the neck, the chest, and the palm of the hand.
It is recommended for the following:
- To recover elasticity, firmness, and freshness of the skin.
- To treat erythema (redness).
- To treat Rosacea.
- To rejuvenate the skin and to correct the damage caused by the sun.
- To eliminate problems of pigmentation (age spots, freckles, etc)
- To treat the skin with large pores and rough appearance.
- To eliminate the scars caused by acne.
PLATELET RICH PLASMA (PRP)
Platelet Rich Plasma, also known as PRP, is a biological substance made by our own organism, free of chemicals and without risks.
It is a replacement therapy applied in mature skins that show signs of ageing or young skins with acne marks. Apart from this, it shows a significant increase in the smoothness and lightness of the skin.
What does the treatment consist of?
Platelet Rich Plasma is obtained from the patient’s own blood. The process consists of the centrifugation of a blood sample, from which the plasma rich in platelets is obtained. By means of microinjects, the Platelet Rich Plasma is applied into the skin.
This treatment consists of 3 steps:
- Blood extraction.
- Centrifugation: Once the sample has been obtained, it is centrifuged. After the centrifugation, the sample is ready for activation.
- PRP application: PRP can be injected via microinjections in order to stimulate epidermal cells.
Post- treatment recommendations
The PRP treatment can be combined with Mesotherapy after 7 or 14 days. It is recommended to perform 3 sessions per year and, optionally, they can be combined with other products, depending on the needs of the skin.
Some patients develop swelling, which is interpreted as a sign of skin reactivation. At some points, the needle may produce some small marks that disappear the next day without any problem. You can apply your usual make-up products.
DERMAGE RF-SYSTEM is a group of innovative energy created to counteract the signs of old age, facial rejuvenation and toning down of wrinkles with an aesthetic lifting effect.
- Radio Frequency: It dims skin folds and wrinkles (filler effect) and it stimulates the fibroblast activity to increase the production of collagen fibres and elastic fibres (collagen and elastin). Consequently, it restores the skin smoothness, elasticity, and firmness.
- “Vacuntonic” and photo massage: it rejuvenates and tones up the skin.
- Dermo-exfoliation: It consists of a suction procedure which produces a visible peeling effect on the skin, stimulating the cellular renewal, the microcirculation, and the tone of the skin.
- Micro-lifting: It softens the signs of ageing with micro currents.
This is a vascular disorder, which manifests itself in sensitive skins and prone to congestions. It consists of the appearance of telangiectasias, i.e., vasodilated venous capillaries which form red spots on face. Couperose results from poor circulation in venous return. Couperose worsens with sudden changes in temperature, wind, radiation, nerve disorders, alcohol, tobacco, spicy foods, or hot drinks.
Couperose is treated with intense pulsed light (IPL).
